The Retreat

Our retreats are designed to be a fabulous vacation in New Zealand where you have fun, create memories, and truly connect with your group. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to discuss challenges with our family and child psychologist and receive advice and guidance that truly works. You will come away with a renewed you!

We understand that families/parents/women come in many different configurations. Our expertise enables us to tailor each retreat for your unique group.

You will have the opportunity to speak with Deirdre our family expert prior to your family retreat. During this session Deirdre will provide advise on any preparation that may be helpful. Our family retreats are designed to be fun and relaxing, we encourage parents to share excitement about a family holiday in New Zealand with your children.

New Zealand and Bluestone are very casual, so pack casual clothes and shoes. It can get cold at night so bring a sweater or two. Sun hats for all family members are also important as the sun is very strong in NZ. A swimsuit, and hiking shoes or sneakers are recommended too.

Due to the limited availability of our retreats, Bluestone Families has a strict cancellation policy.
We do understand emergency situations and in these situations every effort will be made to accommodate different dates. Should a different date not be possible, the following applies:
Cancellation more than 60 days prior to your retreat will result in a full refund.
Cancellation between 30 and 60 days will result in your deposit being forfeited.
Cancellation within 30 days prior to your retreat will result in no refund.

We accommodate activities based on your retreat and the requests of each guest.
There will be physical activities, information sessions with cultural exploration and time out for rest, reflection and play. During your discovery call we can provide an outline of a suggested structure and activities.

The activities you participate in are entirely up to you. You have the opportunity to preselect your actives and experiences before you arrive.

Your family retreat is secured with a 50% deposit.
The rest of your payment is due 30 days prior to the commencement of your retreat.
The Accommodation

Check in is 2 pm and check out is 11 am, or by arrangement.

We are an hour from Auckland Airport.
Airport transfers by car or helicopter can be arranged. Please enquire re cost.

Yes! High speed internet access in complementary. If you choose to purchase an international cell service plan through your cell service provider, we have great service on our estate!

Bluestone offers meditation, mindfulness practice, pilates, personal training and massages. You will have the opportunity to pre select wellness experiences prior to arrival. We do have a gym, tennis court, basketball court, pool and hot tub on site.

We encourages all guests to participate in responsibilities that are part of daily life.
Self laundry is available.

This is something we handle with ease. We are able to accommodate all allergies and dietary needs.

Self service breakfast and snacks are provided.
When onsite, catered lunch and dinner will be provided. All meals are healthy and made with fresh, local and seasonal ingredients.
At our family retreats, we understand that children can sometimes be challenging to feed, particularly those with allergies. You will have the opportunity to make note of your children’s food preferences in your pre arrival call.

Our pools are solar heated all year round which is most effective between October to May, when the sun is shining.

Bluestone Estate is a non smoking property, this includes vapes and e- cigarettes.

We do happily welcome legitimate service animals and guide dogs.
Due to the large number of wildlife who visit the area, Bluestone is unfortunately not suitable for family pets.

Illegal substances will not be tolerated at Bluestone. NZ has very strict laws on drug possession and use, including cannibis.
